Amy Martens - Counsellor & Discipler
Amy Martens is married to her loving husband, Conrad, and is Mama to 4 wonderful children: Aidyn,
Callie, Ryder and William. She has been homeschooling her children for the past 5 years and has been teaching piano lessons out of her home music studio for the past 20 years. Conrad and Amy have been involved in ministry in various aspects throughout their marriage. In their early years together they volunteered as youth directors with another couple in their local church. After moving to Medicine Hat in 2009, Amy was involved in the music ministry and Sunday School ministry in their church. In 2019, after moving out to Seven Persons, AB, they started up a youth group in their local church and have been directing the youth group together since then. Amy grew up in a Christian home and accepted Jesus at the age of 4. She spent her formative years completely unaware of her identity in Jesus, and as a result believed she needed to work hard to earn the acceptance of both God and those around her. As time passed, life began to feel exhausting and burdensome. Relationships began to feel strained under the weight of unrealistic expectations. In 2013, a series of difficult life circumstances left Amy feeling disillusioned and overwhelmed in her faith. Not knowing where to turn, she began earnestly asking God to show her His truth. Through God’s loving direction, she connected with Con and Leona through their ministry with LDM in Medicine Hat. Amy and her husband, Conrad, attended the Exchanged Life Seminar together in 2014. The freedom and joy they experienced from those 3 days of teaching resulted in both of them seeking personal and marriage counseling, which continued over the course of the next 3 years. As they were established in the knowledge of their identity in Christ and began to experience knowing Christ as their life, they watched God transform their marriage, their parenting, their personal lives and the relationships with others around them. In 2018, a dream began to grow of sharing this truth with others. After taking several classes with Con and Leona through LDM, Amy officially began the Advanced Discipleship Training program in 2019. In 2023 she will graduate from the program and join LDM to work with Con and Leona in a teaching and discipling role. God has filled her with a desire to see other believers come to know and experience the joy, peace, freedom and victory that Christ has provided. She is excited to participate with Christ in sharing His truth! |
